Definition

Special Administrative Unit of the National Parks System, is an agency of the central administration as part of the organizational structure of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, with administrative and financial autonomy, responsible for the management and administration of the Park System national Natural and coordination of the National System of Protected Areas - SINAPs.

Mission:
Manage areas of the National Parks System and coordinate the National System of Protected Areas, in the framework of environmental planning, in order to preserve in situ biological and ecosystem diversity representative of the country, provide and maintain EGS , protect the cultural heritage and natural habitat where traditional cultures are developed as part of National heritage and contribute to sustainable human development, under the principles of transparency, solidarity, equity, participation and respect for cultural diversity.

Vision:
Being a public entity positioned nationally, with international recognition and social legitimacy, technical capacity, effective organizational scheme, advocacy and financial strength, which serves as the environmental authority in the areas of the National Parks System, preserving process leads , administration and coordination of protected areas, contributing to the environmental management of the country.
